May 16/12
Good evening, just came by to say a quick hello..i was unable to do everything i wanted to do, i was told to rest more and relax and not to work to much until i am well...so i was done with everything around 930ish or 10..i didn't bother to check the time wen i walked in..working and helping people is just wat i enjoy..yep!..my spirits were lifted high this afternoon..i am happy about that..and time went so fast at work i didnt realize the time until a medical driver came to pick me up for my appointment..so that made a slow trip to the nursing station..time stopped playing the waiting game..yup!..yep, hoping to feel better in a few days..
other than that the prayer walk was successful..i enjoyed the walk...talking n walking along side the pastor made my time seem like a short walk..we walked about 4 - 5 kms and the people that walked seemed to have enjoyed their time..the first leg of the way we stopped for prayers for Jerome Harper and family..the community of St Theresa Point...and the second leg was for the community of Sandy Lake, our late aunty Kelly's family..third leg was for family of late Nora Matawapit and the Munroe family..and the final leg was for the Community of Weagamow Lake..for the loss also..once we finished the walk we gather behind the resource centre for some bannock and tea..kids had wiener roast..they made tea poridge for the kids without lard..we had one guest that walked with us..his name is Dean ummmm..something, i forgot his last name but he works for the Nodin Counseling Services..he spoke to the crowd afterwards, and also everyone else was given a chance to speak in how this walk represented in the grieve they are facing..it was great and we will be doing another one once the elders are back in the community..we dont have as many elders as you do with the fingers in your hands..we are running out of elders..okay..listen out for the next prayer walk..
If anyone is interested in having a singing service at Mr R Thunder's residence any time soon please call me at the health office and i will arrange that be done..we need to spend more time with the family and show our support..but i have to go and ask them first..
other than that..i need that Sachigo Lake nursing station homepage password..if annyone knows..
alrighty...i think that should do it for now..will be heading on to dreamland and do wat the nurse asked me to do...so thank you for coming by..and thanks for your support..you being nosey brings the numbers up...lol...jk....yep!..i was looking at this google map that shows where the visitors come from...i saw yer house..thats kewl tho..but doesn't work for knet services..but tells me your reserve n ip..comp id..yer mac address..nice!.
Goodnight and have a good rest..remember, what you make of yer life is what you sow...
again enough said.....

Here is the SACHIGO LAKE WILDERNESS EMERGENCY RESPONSE EDUCATION INITITIVE Team..
From left to right is..Jackson Beardy - Sachigo..Dr.Dave Vanderburge - TBay..Dr.Baj ....Rachel (med instructor)- Calgary..Jeff (researcher)..Dr.Arron Orkin - T Bay...Calen (med Student)..Steven (research) - Sudbury..
The course is based on the needs of medical emergency needs for our first nations communities, there are situations that occur where we immediately need paramedical services which is unavailable for our people, who is there to treat and recover those in need?..only persons available are oursleves..our community members...we are the ones to initiate the response and transport of a victim..say you are out hunting and you get into a accident that has two injured, you are alone..what is going to be your reaction?...one has a bust leg and bleeding..and the other one is not responsive..do you leave the scene to get help?...eventually you would, but..you have to make sure your buddies are okay and alive..you wait for your due timeline and give it extra few hours for help to come and search for you..mean time you stay with the victims and do the treatments yourself..learning from this course gives you a better perspective of utilizing the enviroment you are in, what you have with you..i find this very essential for our communities, we can not always look for outside help from professionals..and this team is working on the program that will fit the needs of the isolated communities away from a ambulatory services..if you are interested i will post up the contact information in the near future, program is not funded and the team searches for grants to make the program possible..and once the funds are available the course is free for the community..
Here are some pitures from the training...this part was on the CPR session..for both adults and infants.....
THE END!
